A few years ago I said to my wife "I should build a dollhouse for Katie, all little girls should have one". Well, one day at Hobby Lobby we found some and saw the price of the kits, wow! We waited for a 40% off any one item coupon and bought Victoria's Farmhouse by Real Good toys. Katie wants it "pink and purple" so she picked out the colors of spray paint and at the same time I bought what the front of the box said: glue, a regular Exacto knife and an Exacto saw.
I saw the carpet, wood flooring, different windows & doors, tile and electrical supplies at the store but thought "why would anyone go to that extreme?". Little did I know...
Now, I have never built one of these and I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting. What I *do know* is that I didn't expect what was I got. I opened it up and I swear, there must have been 500 pieces of wood in it from large to extremely small. So, I read the instructions and started with the base and outside shell.
I unfortunately didn't stat taking pictures until well after we started, so I'll be explaining the first few parts historically. Here's the first part I finished, this actually has a picture of some of the flooring and wallpaper we put in, more on that to come....
